Simple Guide: How to Clean Blind Slats (Timber, PS, PVC & Aluminum)
Routine cleaning of window blinds at home or in the office is surprisingly quick and simple! Whether you are using Timber Blinds, PS (Polystyrene), PVC, or Aluminum Blinds, follow this easy step-by-step cleaning method to keep your slats dust-free and looking brand new.
What You Need:
Microfiber cloth / soft cloth
Feather duster / static duster
3-Step Easy Cleaning Method:
Step 1: Close Slats Facing Forward
Rotate the tilt wand or control cord to completely close the slats facing forward.
Step 2: Wipe the Front Surface
Use a duster or microfiber cloth to gently wipe off dust from top to bottom across the front surface of the slats.
Step 3: Flip & Wipe the Back Surface
Rotate the slats in the opposite direction so the back side faces forward, then wipe the surface clean. Done!
Quick Care Tips by Material:
Timber / Natural Wood: Avoid using excess water. Stick to a dry cloth or feather duster to preserve the natural wood finish.
PS (Polystyrene) & PVC: You can use a slightly damp cloth for stubborn spots since these materials are water-resistant.
Aluminum: Wipe gently with a soft cloth to avoid scratching or bending the light aluminum slats.
